AS “Putnu fabrika Ķekava”, kuras tradīciju turpinātāja ir AS “Ķekava Foods”, tika dibināta 1967.gadā. Uzņēmuma ideja radās jau 1964.gadā, kopā sanākot kolhoza “Ķekava” dalībniekiem un lemjot par zemes atvēlēšanu putnu gaļas ražošanas uzņēmuma celtniecībai.
